Services

“Services” refer to anything that you are paying a  professional to do on your behalf, for example a letting agent managing your property, an account preparing your tax return or an electrician rewiring your home.

Services should be provided with reasonable care and skill by the professional you have employed, for a reasonable price and completed with a reasonable time frame. Where the professional fails to do so then you are entitled to have them re-do the service or to ask for a reduction in the price of the service.

In the worst circumstances, a failure by a professional to provide a service properly  may see you at risk of being claimed against by another party. In these cases, you may be able to obtain an indemnity from the professional to cover you for any costs that are forced to pay out.

If you have been provided with a service that is simply not up to the standard you would have expected then contact one of our advisors to discuss what steps you can take to enforce your rights.
