Clare James

Clare joined Elliot Mather in January 2016 as a secretary in the Child Care Department quickly progressing to a Paralegal position in December 2017. Since then Clare has completed the LPC and having decided a life of crime was for her, qualified in July 2021 as a solicitor in the Criminal Department.

Clare provides representation to those appearing in the Magistrates court for a range of offences and provides advice to both legally aided and private paying clients. Clare also has experience in dealing with new client enquiries for court attendances, handling Crown Court files and attending Crown Court to provide support and assistance to clients and barristers.

She is highly regarded for her no nonsense approach to things and giving clear and concise advise that clients really appreciate when they are in the sometimes alien environment of the Criminal Justice System.

Clare is working towards her Court Duty qualification and also towards her police station accreditation. Once obtained Clare will join our dedicated team providing advice and assistance to clients at the police station 24hrs a day 7 days a week.
