Distance Is Not An Issue For Elliot Mather’s Family Department

Distance is now not an issue – we can help you, no matter where you are living.

Over the lockdown period we have still been helping all of our local and current clients but we have also found that positive word of mouth has meant that we have had many new referrals from happy clients which means our client base is reaching further afield.

As we are now able to use video conferencing to meet with our clients it no longer matters where our clients are, as long as they can find a private and quiet room and they can send us proof of ID and proof of address which we can check.

If you need advice about how to start video conferencing, FaceTime, Zoom etc. we are here to assist you.

Our expert Family Law team are here to take the worry off your hands. We provide a free initial telephone options appointment to see how we can assist in your circumstances. Please call your preferred office below for a no obligation, initial discussion or email and we will call you back.

What are the benefits of our remote working capability?

Currently all divorce petitions are being issued in more central locations and not necessarily close to us in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, which means you can instruct us from wherever you are to deal with your divorce. We will meet with you over Zoom or Skype or Facetime and we can get the ball rolling for you.  We have very competitive fixed fee packages.

Another highly useful feature of using remote video calls is that clients do not have to come into the office. We can have an efficient and effective meeting on someone’s lunch break or at a time that suits the client.  I am finding that clients are appreciating this as it means that they can speak to us while the children are not around or are busy doing something else be that home-schooling (fingers crossed) or a little bit of TV.  It is allowing huge flexibility.

Another scenario where video calls are working well is in domestic abuse situations.  We have all seen the alarming statistics and it is terrible the situations women and men are having to go through at this time, but we are finding that video calls at home can happen when the other party is not in and we will always check the client is ok to talk when we call and only leave a message or send an email if it is safe to do so.

Over lockdown I have arranged meetings with interpreters on video calls and also been able to include a number of support workers on calls. Both these have been invaluable.

All in all everyone has worked so hard to make the new ‘normal’ work and it is working very successfully. I believe that the use of video calls is going to be invaluable in the future and will allow us to provide an even more flexible service for our clients.

We have become very good at using the new way of meeting clients and ask that you give us a call for an initial chat to see how we are able to help you to move   forwards.
