Booking a Home Removal Service
The process of buying or selling a property is both an exciting and stressful time. It is understandable that you will want to be fully prepared, and ensuring that you have a removal service booked is one of the things to consider.
Currently, due to the stamp duty holiday, the housing market is extremely busy, with estate agents selling houses rapidly, mortgage lenders approving many mortgages to buyers, and solicitors working tirelessly to reach completion for clients before the 30th June. The same can be said for removal companies and van hire companies.
We are noticing more and more completions being delayed due to removal companies and van hire companies being booked up further in advance, or dates having to be changed due to a delay in contracts being exchanged. As the deadline for the Stamp Duty holiday approaches, we envisage more and more individuals booking removal services to assist with their house moving process.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend receiving quotes from a couple of different companies in order to keep your options open. Also, try to retain as much flexibility as possible to allow for any changes, as we appreciate that sometimes completion dates can be moved.
We would also recommend speaking with your desired removal company prior to agreeing a completion date assuming it will be available. Some removal firms are booked 2-3 weeks ahead and this is likely to get worse over the coming months as we approach the 30th June.
Our residential team at Elliot Mather are working hard to assist our clients in reaching completion before the 30th June. It is important that when you have an idea as to when your completion date will be that you make arrangements for moving.
