Chartered Legal Executive
Stan is a Chartered Legal Executive and joined Elliot Mather in March 2018. He has a huge wealth of experience in all aspects of residential property matters but specialises in enfranchisement and lease extensions.
Stan previously worked in the Sheffield area and there gained extensive knowledge and experience of dealing with leasehold properties and varying or extending leases and also the purchase of the freehold to leasehold properties, a process called enfranchisement. Stan acts not only for individuals in single property matters but also for companies with large property portfolios, irrespective of the location of the individual or company or the property concerned, and often represents London based clients in dealing with London property.
Stan understands that leasehold property sometimes receives negative press but in fact there is often no good reason for this. In some circumstances however, a lease may have been negotiated on unfavourable terms for the owner of the property or alternatively the lease term is winding down which can make it difficult, if not impossible, to mortgage or to sell the property. It is in these circumstances that careful consideration should be given to the possibility of varying the terms of the lease either by extending the remaining term or purchasing outright the freehold to the leasehold property.
This area of law requires in-depth, specialist knowledge and experience and Stan is able to provide that level of expert advice to clients across all parts of the country.
